One of the most important measures of a community’s quality of life is public safety. Bridgeport Charter Township is lucky to have well-trained, dedicated people in its police and fire departments. But as the Township has evolved, so has its needs.
If we are to maintain – and enhance – the quality of life each of our residents deserves, we must be able to continue to provide the police and fire resources we need today. If the Township is to increase its ability to respond to police, fire and medical emergencies, it has only two choices: increase revenue, or cut other services.
We believe the people of Bridgeport Charter Township deserve the very best municipal services, and that cutting parks, recreation, code enforcement, refuse collection and other services is not an option.
Therefore, the Township Board of Trustees is considering a special assessment or millage to enhance public safety services. But before asking for additional funding, we want to hear from you, the citizens of Bridgeport Charter Township, and answer your questions. This website is one way that you can provide your feedback. Additional opportunities to provide feedback and ask questions are in the works. Times and locations of these opportunities will be announced in the coming months.
