Bridgeport Township is currently seeking applications for the Planning Commission.

Meetings are once a month on the 4th Thursdays of the month throughout the year. Interested parties can fill out the application available in the office or online (Click Here) and return it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Eligibility to be chosen for the Planning Commission, per the Michigan Planning Enabling Act states:

Members of a planning commission shall be qualified electors of the local unit of government, except that the following number of planning commission members may be individuals who are not qualified electors of the local unit of government but are qualified electors of another local unit of government:

  • (a) 3, in a city that on September 1, 2008 had a population of more than 2,700 but less than 2,800.
  • (b) 2, in a city or village that has, or on September 1, 2008 had, a population of less than 5,000, except as provided in subdivision (a).
  • (c) 1, in local units of government other than those described in subdivision (a) or (b).
